Facing The New Year

Well the holidays have once again come and gone and we are now facing the new year. I have to say that in spite of the medical problems my dear husband has had to deal with this year I feel that the holidays were especially nice this year, thanks to my wonderful family and friends. It started kind of slow for me but once I got in the swing of things I was on my way and getting just as excited as all of our grand kids. This year was the first year that the younger ones (Isla, Vivianna & Hunter) where really getting into the spirit of things. It's so much fun watching them run around and tear open there packages in anticipation of what they will find inside. Even though we all had Christmas colds it seems that everyone had a good time. We even had a little Christmas party at the rehab center where Papa is and they had secret Santa's for all the patients which made is really special and nice. Papa received a really nice soft and warm blanket from one of his nurses. To finish the season for me I spent the last of my Christmas celebration with my oldest son and his family. We had a belated Christmas dinner of prim rib roast with carrots and potatoes and I have to say it was delicious (thank you Ali). I enjoyed listening to bed time stories with Isla and then headed back to rehab to spend the rest of the evening with Papa. I want to take this time to wish all of you a very happy and prosperous New Year.
