Busy Busy Monday.....

Oh what a Monday. We were so busy it seems that I was doing three things at once. I'm finally sitting down to relax before starting on all the projects that I had to bring home. I really don't mind because at home I work on what I want to and do it at my own pace. Oh well just the beginning of another week to start the count down until next weekend. I feel like the leopard on the tree.

Saturday Dinner With Isla

Last night I had a wonderful visit with my little Isla Marie. She is really growing. She weighs over ten pounds. She's a solid little girl and just as cute as she can be. Sometimes I think she looks just like her Daddy and then other times I see more of her Mother in her. She's such a content little girl and seems to be able to occupy herself very well. They have so many new gadgets that teach babies as they play (I wish we had some of those teaching toys when our little ones were small). I have two new pictures to share with her enjoying one of her new teaching toys.

10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing!

1:00 pm - Played in the yard! My favorite thing!

5:00 pm - Milk Bones! My favorite thing!

7:00 pm - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!

8:00 pm - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!

11:00 pm - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!

Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary...(Day 983 of my captivity...)

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets..

Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I never the less must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Bastards.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow - but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more that willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

Tampons (A TRUE STORY)

Please read the whole thing,,, You'll love it...

I am reminded that,

"God Works in Mysterious Ways"

Tampons to the rescue in Iraq!! Don't worry, it's a good story, and worth reading. It's even humorous in parts. It's from the mother of a Marine in Iraq.

My son told me how wonderful the care packages we had sent them from the ladies auxiliary were and wanted me to tell everyone thank you.

He said that one guy we'll call Marine X, got a female care package and everyone was giving him a hard time. My son said, 'Marine X got some really nice smelling lotion and everyone really likes it, so every time he goes to sleep they steal it from him.' I told my son I was really sorry about the mistake, and if he wanted I would send Marine X another package. He told me not to worry about Marine X because every time I send something to him, he shares it with Marine X.

He said when my husband and I sent the last care package, Marine X came over to his cot picked up the box, started fishing through it, and said, 'What'd we get this time?'

But my son said they had the most fun with Marine X's package. He said he wasn't sure who it was supposed to go to, but the panties were size 20, and he said one of the guys got on top of the Humvee and jumped off with the panties over his head and yelled, 'Look at me, I'm an Airborne Ranger!!!

One of the guys attached the panties to an antenna and it blew in the wind like a windsock. He said it entertained them for quite awhile. Then of course......they had those tampons. When he brought this up, My imagination just went running, but he continued.

My son said they had to go on a mission and Marine X wanted the Chap-Stick and lotion for the trip. He grabbed a bunch of the items from his care package and got in the Humvee. As luck would have it he grabbed the tampons too, and my son said everyone was teasing him about 'not forgetting his feminine hygiene products.'

He said things went well for a while, then the convoy was ambushed and a Marine was shot. He said the wound was pretty clean, but it was deep. He said they were admininstering first aid but couldn't get the bleeding to slow down, and someone said, 'Hey! Use Marine X's tampons!' My son said they put the tampon in the wound. At this point my son profoundly told me, 'Mom, did you know that the tampons expand?' (Well...yeah!')

They successfully slowed the bleeding until the guy got better medical attention. When they went to check on him later, the surgeon told them, 'You guys saved his life. If you hadn't stopped that bleeding he would have bled to death.' My Son said, 'Mom, the tampons sent by the Marine Moms by mistake saved a Marine's life.'
A this point I asked him, 'Well, what did you do with the rest of the tampons?'

He said , 'Oh, we divided them up and we all have them in our flak jackets, and I kept two for our first aid kit.

I am absolutely amazed by the ingenuity of our Marines. I can't belive that something that started out as a mistake then turned into a joke, ended up saving someone's life. My sister said she doesn't belive in mistakes. She believes that 'female care package' was sent to Marine X to save our Marine.

Either way, our efforts have boosted the morale of many Marines, provided much needed items for our troops, AND saved the life of a Marine! God bless every one of you for your efforts and hard work, and God bless our Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force and all our military service personnel.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND KEEP IT SAFE!

After reading this story please take the time to remember our troups with this short prayer: 'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.'

Please feel free to share this story and please remember our troups in your prayers!!

The political mood....

I don't always put my political views up for public viewing but I do feel I should share this with you. I am watching the economy go from bad to worse! Where is all this help that we are being promised. It seem like all the large companies are getting the benifits. But what are we getting? I wish I could say that I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel and that things are starting to turn around but I don' feel it. I see that interest rates on loans seem better but it doesn't help me who has a mortgage of over 100,000. upside down. Who is going to refy someone in my position? I can't even take advantage of the good rates. I feel that the way these things are set up is that they only help those who don't need help in the first place. Those of us that are honest and law abiding cititzens will continue to struggle.

I know that President Obama is trying and he means well but I think like the prior letter says that they need to step back and take a look at the stimulus package and take the Pork out of it.

It's A Tea Party!!!

Why not?

Just Do It!!!

There's a storm abrewin'. What happens when good, responsible people keep quite? Washington has forgotten they work for us. We don't work for them. Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer. I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to come up with a plan. I am sick of Congress raking CEO's over the coals while they, themselves, have defaulted on their taxes. I am sick of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar. I am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that , knowingly, bought more house than they could afford. I am sick of being made to feel ist is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes. I, like all of you, am a responsible citizen. I pay my taxes. I live on a budget and I don't ask someone else to carry the burden for poor decisions I may make. I have emailed my congressmen and senators askeing them to NOT vote for the stimulus package as it was written without reading it first. No one listened. They voted for it, pork and all.

O.K. folks, here ist is. You may think you are just one voice and what you think won't make a difference. Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!!! If you are disgusted and angry with the way Washington is handling our taxes. If you are fearful of the fallout from the wreckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and "stimulate" without accountability and responsibilily then we need to become ONE, LOUD VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM EVERY CITY, TOWN, SUBURB AND HOME IN AMERICA. There is a growing protest to demand that Congress, the President and his cabinet LISTEN to us, the American Citizens. What is being done in Washington is NOT the way to handle the economic free fall.

So, here's the plan. On April 1, 2009, all Americans are asked to seend a TEABAG to Washington, D.C. You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so desire. Just a TEABAG. Many cities are organizing protests. If you simply search, "New American Tea Party", several sites will come up. If you aren't the 'protester' type, simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG. Your one voice will become a roar when joined with millions of others that feel the same way. Yes, something needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock market speaks volumes.

This was not my idea. I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Party's' and an online srvey showed over 90% of thousands said they would send the teabag on April 1. Why, April 1?? We want them to reach Washington by April 15. Will you do it? I will. Send it to; 1600 Pennsylvaina Ave., Washington, D.C. 20500..

Forward this to everyone you know. Visit the website below for more information about the 'New American Tea Party'. I would encourage everyone to go ahead and get the envelope ready to mail, then just drop it in the mail April 1. Can't guarantee what the postage will be by then, it is going up as we speak, but have your envelope ready. What will this cost you? A little time and a 40 something cent stamp.

What could you receive in benefits" Maybe, just maybe, our elected officials will start to listen to the people. Take out the Pork. Tell us how the money is being spent. We want TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY. Remember, the money will be spent over the next 4-5 years. It is not too late.

Isla's Little Finger

Our poor little Isla has a sore thumb. Can you believe at her tender age that she has an ingrown nail. Her Mommy gives her little hand soaks several times a day. Mommy says it's like having a little spa bath for your hand. I hope our little one will be better soon. She has to keep a little mitten on so that she can't put her thumb in her month. I'm sure it's a full time job for our new parents.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

It's fun to be lazy sometimes. I use weekends to catch up on rest from the hustle and bustle of my work week I find with each passing year I need a little more rest to catch and be ready for the week ahead. I enjoy watching The House and Garden channel and I learn a lot of little tricks for decorationg and what not. Taking time out for ones self is very important these days with all the demands on us in our busy everyday life. One thing I have learned through the years is how important it is to take time out just to smell the roses. Housework doesn't seem as important as it use to. I'm learning how to just enjoy life and not sweat the small stuff. Just a few thoughts on a quite Sunday afternoon.

MAIL SCAMS!!!

Two days ago I received a letter in the mail from UBE Payment Services stating that they where holding a $5,000 check for me if I would answer a very simple math occasion for them and sign the release statement and send it back to them at some address in Australia. Needless to say this whole thing sparked some curiosity in me and I decided to do a little research on my own and discovered that I was not the only person to receive this notice. It is a SCAM and should be reported to the authorities. How these people get our names I'm not quite sure but it seems that they have their ways.

Other people have gone as far as to replying with a signature and the answer to this very simple brain teaser question. After replying they have then been asked for a $10 fee to release the check. After sending the money they have not heard anything again.

Please be careful if you see anything like this in your mailbox.

Bad Day At Work....

It truly was a blue Monday. I think that everything that could of gone wrong hit us today. First half the staff was out sick. Students where angery because there were some scheduling mistakes made and the oh of course the bathroom in one of our other locations overflowed and was flooding the classrooms. Of course the students just loved that. All and all I thought that our manager did a great job of handling matters and keep his cool. I think I would have lost it. The only thing that kept me going was the smiling face of one of my granddaughters who seems to be overseeing everything I do. She make me realize that things aren't really that bad.

Nice Sunday afternoon

I thought all of you would get a kick out of this but as usual I forgot to set my clock ahead so when I went to Coronado to see the play that I had tickets for I was one hour late! Only I would do something crazy like that. Luckily they gave me a ticket for Thursday night next week so I will still get to see the play. Boy did I feel stupid. The afternoon turned out great in spite of the mix up. I had dinner with an old friend and his fiancee and it was really fun catching up on old news. It's great to see people that you haven't seen in a long time. Before I go I have another cute picture of Isla to share with you. Her Mommy keeps me well supplied.

New Baby pics....
